The Orchid Chain

Name- Kesten Leri

Age- Roughly 24

Physical Description- Kesten is approx. 5'8" and two steps away from underweight. She's
very fine boned and fairly long in the torso. Her chest could be rendered flat by one
strategically placed ace bandage. Her both her skin and hair are very pale. Her hair is fawn brown, nearly white, and her skin is an almost translucent cream color. She's blind and normally wears a blindfold, but if you take the blindfold off, her unfocused eyes are a startling rich blue. She dresses very richly, almost as if to make up for her lack of coloring. Violet blue's are her best color, ranging into purple. Many of her outfits are accented with metallic, either gold or copper. The styles she wears are very loose, mostly comprised of sarongs and other wrapped garments. She normally wears at least three layers of clothing, preferably in light satin, silk or gauze.

Personality/Background - Kesten was given to the Palace at age 20 after a blow to the head left her blind. The same blow, conveniently, left her without much of a memory, although she is aware of having lived outside of the Palace. If asked, she would tell you she's sure of her name, and that she had a family - parents, a brother, and two sisters - and that although she doesn't remember much of it, she's certain she wouldn't miss it if she did. Although she's rather quiet and would never go so far as to question a master, there's an unquestionable air of authority about her that's left many masters wondering whether they're controlling her or vice versa. She orders the other servants around as if she were a favored courtesan and her master (or mistress) were the king or queen. She moves around her room with such surety that several masters have left half convinced that her blindness was simply an elaborate joke. This is because, due to her blindness, her sense of smell, touch, and hearing is almost perfect, and her memory is excellent. If something is moved, she'll hear where it's moved to, remember that, and be able to move around it easily. Some masters are irritated by the fact that she tends to treat them almost as equals, but through the years there have been few complaints about her.  She loves to be read to, especially by a master with a nice voice, and enjoys singing, weaving - she likes the feel of the thread against her fingers - and is unparalleled at massage.

Room - Like her clothes, her room seems to try to make up for her lack of color. The lighting is dim, but the walls are brightly painted with neogrecco-egyptian style murals in bright blues, copper and gold, off set by light creams and tans. From the tops of the psudopillars in the murals, there are baskets of hanging orchids in varying shades of purple with a few white ones for accent. The wood of the canopy bed is a rich mahogany, the sheets are white silk, and the bedspread is vibrant blue and purple velvet. The floor is dark hard wood, covered with woven rugs - mostly blue with flecks of pink and bright red in some of them. A few soft, easily movable pieces of furniture are scattered around the room. In the room's center is a built in hot tub, made of psudomarble, perfect for soaking.
