The Description of the Heather Chain

NAME: Lidia Vannaugh (The Heather Chain)

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Lidia is a short girl, nineteen years old with light grey eyes and wispy, curly blond hair so pale that it looks almost silver hanging in locks that go down to the small of her back. She wears a fairly conservative dress: burgundy, with the hem at her knees and fringed with white lacing. The collars are also white, and on the left lapel is a small pin that's a depiction of a cute little rabbit. Moving beneath the outer garments, Lidia usually wears normal, non-remarkable panties and bras: white, no lace, which strap in the front (they're easier to wear, although they run the risk of coming loose easier than the ones which strap on the back). She doesn't have any sort of birthmark or deformity or any other such mars. Lidia, for the most part, usually is complacent and friendly; however, she has a vindictive streak in her which makes her a bit confrontational at times. (See personality section for more details). Also, she carries herself in a dignified fashion, preferring to keep everything in its place. These little habits moves us into...

PERSONALITY: In one word, Lidia can be described as "haughty". She comes from a rich and powerful background, and has had her share of the good life; thus, she sort of expects a little more out of life than most people do. She is not a bitch, although she does have her moments. The key thing to remember is that Lidia has attended public schools and she knows that acting as if she was above everyone else doesn't make her very popular, so she knows full well how to be social, friendly, and to participate in the give-and-take nature of relationships. Lidia does have an air of distance about her; while she's quite confident in her own talents and skills, she houses a bit of insecurity caused by the conflict between her upbringing and the last year of her life (detailed later in the environment section). She also likes to assert control and, in retrospect, be controlled if the proper mood is set.

ENVIRONMENT: Lidia currently lives at a small but cozy house which she's managed to procure with her meager funds. It's a small, one-room deal with the kitchen, living room, and bedroom blurred into a space probably the size of a small apartment. There's a bed flush against the northern wall, twin-sized; the kitchen consists of a small bunsen burner, some dishes, pots and pans, and the like; the living room has a small shelf of books that holds maybe two hundred volumes at most, and a small television sitting on the ground gathering dust. Admittedly it's not the most erotic of places, but it's all she has at the moment.

BACKGROUND: Lidia was born into the Vannaugh family, a rich, influential member of the elite society in her town. She was enrolled into a private elementary school, and thus had the rather-pampered upbringing of your typical rich kid. However, her parents ran into tough times following her "graduation" into junior high, and from that point on, her family's power and wealth steadily decreased. The first sign of the decline was Lidia attending a public school in junior high, where she learned, the hard way, about the hardships of life. She graduated high school, a significantly more mature woman, although she still harbors a near-universal stigmata against just about everyone: common people she perceives to be beneath her. Lidia's parents were both killed one night in an incident that she never fully understood, leaving her alone and fresh out of high school. When she turned to her parents' will, she discovered that her family had been broke for the past year or two, and had been sustaining themselves solely on the good-willed donations of their friends. With a massive amount of debt and no way to work herself out of it, Lidia was sent into the world without  any amount of support.

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

“Ahhh!” Lidia jumped up from her bed. She looked around, only to see her dilapidated apartment, the same as always. Lidia sighed and slumped back into her pillow. She had been having such a wonderful dream, only to be rudely awakened by her alarm clock.

Lidia yawned and stretched out. “Man, I gotta stop having those dreams! They’re going to drive me crazy!” Dreaming of lounging in her former palatial residence were so distracting, especially with Lidia’s renewed efforts to make a living.

Lidia hopped out of bed and quickly got dressed in her favorite outfit, a conservative burgundy dress. She smiled to herself. Today was the day she’d find her new amazingly profitable job. She skipped downstairs to pick up the daily newspaper, with an eye on the employment section.

“I think I’ll peruse the wanted ads over at the coffee shop down the street.” With a spring in her step, she practically danced down the block. Lidia knew, she just knew, that she’d find the perfect job and leave her family’s debt in the dust.

Lidia quickly ordered a small latte and settled back in a chair, unfolding the newspaper in front of her. She tossed aside most of it and focused on the employment section.

“Hmm. I’ve got to find a position that suits me and only requires a high school education. After all, I still can’t afford to go even to,” she shuddered, “community college. No problem, after all, there are hundreds of ads here. Oh! Here’s one, ‘Wanted: a Secretary for-‘ oh never mind, I could never do that kind of menial labor for any amount of money.”

Three hours later, Lidia was mostly through the paper, and still hadn’t found any position that even remotely resembled one she wanted. She slumped down on the table.

“There must be some job out there I can do to pay off my debts, without debasing myself to the level of a commoner.” A random ad caught her eye. She examined it more closely. “Wait just a minute. ‘Needed for two-month job: General assistant, female, preferably with experience with upper classes. Cash in advance.’ That’s perfect.” Lidia quickly circled the ad and ran back to her apartment.

She dialed the number nervously, twirling the cord around her fingers. “Come on, some on please answer. Come on, you know you want to...”

A click sounded and a deep voice said, “Yes?”

Lidia cleared her throat. “Hi, my name is Lidia Vanaugh and I’m interested in applying for the job in the paper.” Not a bad first impression.

“The paper? Why are you interested in a position here?”

“Well, I’m trying to erase some old debts, and eventually make my mark on the world.”

The man on the other end of the phone chuckled softly. “How interesting. And have you gone to college?”

“No, I’ve just graduated from high school.”

“I see. And how old are you Miss Vanaugh?”

“I’m nineteen.”

“Excellent. I think we just may have a position here for you.”

Lidia grinned. “Thank you, sir. Thank you very much. I promise you won’t regret it.”

The man chuckled. “I’m sure I won’t. Let me give you the address where you should come in to work tomorrow at exactly seven o’clock.”

Lidia grabbed a nearby pad and took down the address. “Oh, ok, I know how to get there.”

“Excellent. Remember, seven o’clock, and not a minute later. Don’t be late.”

“I won’t, don’t worry.”

“Let’s hope so.”

Lidia hung up the phone and felt a rush of excitement. Her first job! She just knew that she would wipe all those debts clean in no time flat. “I rule!”

Lidia pulled up next to a large plain building. “This place doesn’t look like much. Ah, the inside is probably nicer anyway.” She strolled over to the entrance and knocked once.

As she pulled her hand away, the door opened instantly and a short dark-haired man stuck his head out and peered at Lidia.

“What do you want?”

Lidia stepped back in surprise. “Uh, I’m here for the job. The guy in the phone said to be here at seven, so here I am.”

The man frowned. “I see. Very well, come on in.”

The man held open the door long enough to let Lidia in, and it slammed closed behind them.

Lidia’s gaze swept the room to see dozens of unconscious half-dressed young girls around Lidia’s age laying all over the floor. Lidia whirled to the exit, but she couldn’t get it open.

She heard a chuckling, and heard the same voice from the phone.

“Welcome, Ms. Vanaugh, to your new life.”

Lidia gasped and bolted.

She ran through darkened hallways only to hit a dead end. She looked around nervously.

“Oh no, this can’t be happening.”

“Oh, but it is.”

Lidia tried to scream, but suddenly a piece of cotton was held up to her nose.

As Lidia faded from consciousness, she heard chuckling.
