The Castle of the Chains

For those who are unaware of what the Chain Game is, here is a quick explanation.

A person, known as a Trainer, will create and describe a character, known as a Chain, providing a description detailed enough that the Chain can be used in other works by other people.

This description will be given to the Game Organiser, who will then pass it on to another person, known as the Owner. The Owner agrees to accept the Chain, sight unseen, and produce at least one work, fic or art, featuring her - acknowledging that the Chain is a sexual slave and that this fact should be taken into account in the work.

A Chain Game is played in two parts:

Training. A Trainer will create a Chain and her environment, with only three stipulations:
                  I. The Chain must be female.
II. The Chain must be an original character.
III. The environment must be enclosed and the Chain must be unable
                        to leave it.

The Trainer must provide the Game Organiser with a description of their Chain, including a physical description, a personality profile and a description of the environment. The Trainer may also include a description of the character's background, including sexual and social history. This is recommended but not essential. Trainers are urged to remember that they will not be working with the Chains they create, so the descriptions should be as detailed as possible.

All Trainers must contact the Game Organiser before beginning work on their Chains.

Owning: Once the Chain's existence is confirmed, the Game Organiser is free to offer the Chain to potential Owners. An Owner who obtains a Chain agrees to use the Chain in a work of either art or fiction [or both, if the Owner is so inclined]. There are no restrictions on the Owner: s/he literally owns the Chain and may do with her anything s/he sees fit. If the Owner wishes to write a fic involving established characters from other works interacting with the Chain, they are free to do so. If the Owner chooses to produce a work with no sexual content whatsoever, again they are free to do so. There are no limits on Owners, beyond the initial obligation to work with the Chain.

The Flower Chains were distributed to their Owners on the 31st July 2000, and they will be expected to produce at least one piece of work featuring the Chain by the 31st October 2000. If an Owner does not produce at least one piece of work featuring the Chain by that date, the Game Organiser has the right to withdraw the Chain from the Owner and offer it to others for Ownership. All potential Owners should contact the Game Organiser for more information.
